Job description (ready to copy)
Marketing & Athlete Partnerships Intern (Remote, entry-level)

About Electro
Electro makes an electrolyte gum for athletes: zero sugar, zero caffeine, and ingredients that are NCAA-safe. More than 500,000 pieces have been sold, and the gum is carried by college and pro athletes across the country, including NBA and NFL players. Athlete partnerships are a big part of how Electro reaches new people, and interns do much of that work.

What you'll do
- Social media: help run Electro's social channels, drafting posts, keeping up with comments and messages, and following a content calendar.
- Athlete outreach for brand partnerships: reach out to athletes to introduce Electro and start partnership conversations, using clear guidelines and templates.
- Content: draft captions and short-form content ideas, and organize the content athletes share.
- Partnership tracking: keep a shared tracker up to date so every conversation has a status and a next step, and report on it each week.

What you'll learn
- How brand partnerships with athletes are set up, from first message to a finished collaboration
- Professional outreach: writing clearly, following up, and keeping a conversation moving
- Social media and content for a consumer brand
- Organizing work in a tracker and reporting progress to a manager
- Working in a remote team with weekly structure

Who you report to
A manager on the Electro team. Weekly training sessions walk through outreach, content and partnership tracking.

Details
- Location: Remote
- Hours: flexible, about 10 to 15 hours a week
- Compensation: unpaid, for academic credit
- After the internship: path to a paid full-time role for top interns
- No fees and never a cost to students. Interns never sell to friends or family and are never asked to buy anything.

Hello Cade,

I did some digging on this for you. First, I see that Electro has two accounts in Handshake. One is declined and the other is simply waiting in limbo. I believe the Electro account that you have access to and are attempting to post a job on has been declined because of some policy/guideline reasons. The first is that Handshake has its own policies and guidelines and we as a partner institution with Handshake are also required to follow those guidelines. If an employer does not fall within the platform's guidelines they will automatically put a 'red tag' on that employer's account, which essentially flags your account across ALL universities. Once the red tag is on your account our admins here at Miami are required to decline those employers, especially if the red tag was one of the more severe ones (i.e. discrimination of a student, Cannabis companies, etc.). A red tag can also be put on your account if a student reported your organization to Handshake either during or after interning/working for your organization.

I have access to see the red tag on your account but I do not have access to see why that tag was put on your account specifically since it was done directly through Handshake. I'm seeing the Electro account was declined for being flagged as a "Multi-Level Marketing" company which goes directly against Handshake's policies. In order to have this tag removed from your account you will need to contact a Handshake administrator. There should be a "help" option or contact support" for employers somewhere on the website that you can access.

In order to stay within our policies/guidelines I'm going to decline our meeting for today. Once you reach out to Handshake and get this issue resolved please feel free to reach back out to me and I'd be happy to reschedule with you.

Thank you!
Kristyn

Hello Cade,

Thank you for your interest in Lee Business School and our students. I have reviewed the information you sent to our Associate Dean, Beth Gersten, regarding internships with Electro. Unfortunately, an opportunity cannot be considered an internship in Lee Business School unless it is a paid position. For a position to be considered an internship it must meet the following criteria:

1. The duties/responsibilities of the role must align with the student's academic major.
2. The supervisor of the intern must have a background and/or duties/responsibilities that directly align with the student's academic major.
3. The student must complete a minimum of 150 hours in the internship over the course of an academic semester, which lasts 15 weeks.
4. The position must be a paid opportunity.

Please feel free to reach out with questions or concerns.
